The FIA have confirmed that Monza will feature higher kerbs for this year’s Italian Grand Prix in a bid to stop drivers cutting the track’s famous high-speed chicanes. The new ‘combination’ kerbs have been installed on the apex of Turns 1, 2, 4 and 5, in the first Rettifilo and the second Roggia chicanes, both of which have been repeatedly straight-lined by drivers in recent years. The new kerbs should not draw protests from drivers as they have already been used successfully this season at the Nurburgring in Germany and at Spain’s Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
